Cancellation Policy

We understand plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair and flexible:

  • Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your scheduled tour time
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure are non-refundable
  • No-shows (not showing up without notice) are non-refundable

How to cancel: Cancellations and refunds are handled through our booking system (Bokun) and its payment provider — use the link in your Bokun booking confirmation, or message us on WhatsApp or email at least 24 hours before your tour. Refund timing depends on the payment provider and your bank. The exact policy shown at checkout applies.

Northern Lights Disclaimer

The Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) are one of nature's most spectacular phenomena – but they're also unpredictable. Here's what you should know:

  • Aurora activity depends on solar activity, which we cannot control or predict with 100% certainty
  • Even with strong aurora forecasts, cloud cover can affect visibility
  • Our local guides follow weather and cloud data during the evening to look for the best viewing conditions

⚠️ Important: Aurora sightings are never guaranteed. If the tour runs as planned but no aurora is visible, no refund is given for the lack of aurora — instead we offer a 50% discount on a future Northern Lights tour with us (subject to availability). This is an aurora hunting experience – the journey through the Arctic night is part of the adventure!

Our local guides may drive to more than one location during the evening, when road and weather conditions allow, to improve the chances of a clear sky.

Weather Conditions

Your safety is our top priority. Here's how we handle challenging Arctic weather:

  • Tours may be cancelled due to severe weather (extreme storms, dangerous road conditions)
  • If we cancel your tour, you'll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule
  • Light snow or cold temperatures are normal Arctic conditions – tours run in temperatures down to -30°C
  • Our guides continuously monitor conditions and may adjust the route for safety

We'll contact you if weather conditions require cancellation, typically a few hours before the scheduled tour time.

Safety & What to Bring

To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience:

What You Should Bring

  • Warm layered clothing (thermal underwear, fleece, winter jacket)
  • Warm hat, gloves, and scarf
  • Warm waterproof boots
  • Camera or smartphone (the guide gives basic phone photo help when possible)

Good to Know

  • Winter clothing is not provided or rented — please bring your own warm gear
  • Northern Lights tour: children under 6 are not bookable online — please contact us before booking, as the tour can be cold, late, and weather-dependent
  • Please inform us of any mobility issues or special requirements when booking
  • Alcohol and drugs are not permitted on our tours

Liability: Aurora Dreams AB is not responsible for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal belongings during tours, except where required by Swedish law. We recommend travel insurance for all guests.

Flexible Itinerary

Every tour is unique because we adapt to conditions in real-time:

  • Routes, stops, and duration may vary based on weather, road conditions, and aurora forecasts
  • Our guides use multiple data sources to find clear skies and optimal viewing spots
  • We may visit 2-3 different locations during a single tour
  • Tour duration is approximately 3-4 hours

This flexibility is what makes our tours special – we're not stuck to a fixed route, we go where the aurora takes us!
